Teena Giles-Masters
Teena's career began in Royal Leamington Spa, working for a firm of Independent Financial Advisers. During her nearly four years there, she gained invaluable experience before transitioning to the hospitality sector in 2001, where she became a Personal Assistant to the Regional Managing Director of Macdonald Hotels.
Teena was later headhunted by a Director to join a new startup, a hotel management company, where she played an integral role in the company's growth for 14 years. As the first employee hired in October 2005, Teena was pivotal in the company's success, contributing to its expansion to manage hotels with a combined turnover of £72 million. In 2015, she was appointed a Director of the company. In 2016, she inherited the human resources and development department, with high-level management for 800 employees while continuing to support the CEO and Managing Director. One of Teena’s many highlights was being presented with the Mokan traders seal, a Bahraini family crest from an asset owner which is given when they have cemented a relationship.
Following her move back home to Devon, Teena joined The Play Company, a company specialising in designing, manufacturing, and installing soft play equipment. This creative environment allowed her to implement numerous policies, processes, and procedures, including the IT infrastructure that proved crucial just before the COVID pandemic.
Teena needed to work closer to home, and she found the perfect opportunity with Medical & General Independent Financial Advisers. Teena supports Michael in various areas of the business and cherishes the projects that she works on contributing to the successful growth of the business.
Teena is naturally skilled at creating order from chaos, efficiently delegating tasks, and leading teams with a clear vision. She excels at turning goals into reality.
Teena enjoys outdoor activities and exploring the beauty of Devon and Dorset. She has a passion for good food, Australian and New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, and spending time with family and friends. She also enjoys playing new generation board games, and loves a good spa day. Teena would love to have a dog - or six!
Teena was once crowned Whitstone Carnival Queen, winning several first-class trophies. She's not afraid to take the initiative, even proposing to her husband, Geoffrey. The couple "ran away" to get married in Antigua, just the two of them, on a beautiful beach.
