Danny Holness
Danny was drawn to the financial advice profession by the opportunity to help hardworking individuals craft a financial plan to achieve their goals, and he remains passionate about the pivotal role pensions play in assisting people to plan for and enjoy their retirements.
His journey began in 2010 with The Money Advice Service, followed by a role as a financial services administrator, before specialising as a paraplanner in 2014.
Joining Medical & General in 2021, Danny has enjoyed an increasing level of responsibility, including producing report templates and calculators, handling the firm's most technically challenging cases, and mentoring junior paraplanners.
He believes that Medical & General’s emphasis on pre-meeting preparation enables them to provide a valuable and unique service to their clients. He is proud to work for a progressive firm that embraces technology and strives for positive client outcomes.
In addition to his paraplanning duties, Danny oversees Medical & General’s investment research, which has fuelled his passion for ethical investing. He finds it immensely gratifying to align clients’ responsible, sustainable, and impact investment preferences with suitable strategies: helping them invest in a way that addresses today's societal challenges.
Outside of work, Danny enjoys bodybuilding, music, all-grain beer brewing, photography, and exploring the Southwest with his family.
Danny has Aphantasia: the inability to create mental imagery. It affects about 3-4% of the population and is associated with scientific and mathematical occupations. Interestingly, most people with Aphantasia (himself included) can still have vivid dreams. Coincidentally, Aphantasia is studied at the University of Exeter.
